Virgil Abloh’s untimely death left a void in the fashion world that’s been hard to fill. As we reach the one-year anniversary of his passing, Assouline will be releasing a book next month that is a retrospective and celebration of the designer’s life. A former collaborator with Kanye West, artistic director at Louis Vuitton, and founder of Off-White, the accomplishments of Abloh were well above his forty-one years. His contribution to menswear can be best felt in bridging the gap between streetwear and high fashion and giving a presence in both those spaces for Black voices to be heard – and seen.

Assouline’s book Louis Vuitton: Virgil Abloh will focus on the years in which Abloh worked for the fashion house, highlighting his mark on the industry through over 250 photos and interviews with friends and collaborators, such as Nigo, Naomi Campbell, Luka Sabbat, Kendall Jenner and Kid Cudi. For anyone interested in fashion and the mark left behind by Abloh, this book should definitely be added to your coffee table.
